My Favorite Piece by Equipment

When I want to add that little bit extra to an outfit, I find myself incorporating the color pink without realizing it. I haven’t thought of myself as much of a pink girl since religiously quoting “On Wednesday’s we wear pink”, but clearly I still love the color. It is such a versatile color and you don’t have to be a girly girl to add elements of this fun color into your wardrobe. Light pink is my favorite neutral and truly goes with everything. Hot pink can bring that touch of femininity and brightness to any otherwise simple look.

Gingham has been a big trend for the last few summers, and I think it is something that will continue even next summer. Gingham has typically been seen as a preppy trend, but I think of it as a classic. Department stores and high street retailers have re-defined this print to make it fashion forward and fun. I love the look of a gingham skirt and fun printed tee for a quirky but cute look. My favorite printed tee that I could never quite take the plunge on was part of the Chanel Cruise Collection.

I bough these pair of Equipment gingham shorts about three years ago. If you know anything about the brand Equipment, you will know that their items are usually made of 100% silk and basically feel like the softest material you have ever come across. The only negative I can say about these shorts is that they winkle so easily, but that is expected with the material. It seriously looks like I’ve been sitting in a car for hours when I really sat down for 2 minutes. Since, they are so cute I can look past that.

If you would like to get your hands on the brand, but don’t want to pay the retail price you can usually find deals at Nordstrom Rack, Neiman Marcus Last Call, and there are even some items on sale at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale right now (like this bottle print blouse and sleeveless shirt).

Thanks so much Alexa! I almost didn’t buy the shoes, but I am so happy I did.
