Chic All Black Holiday Party Look

All Black Look, Holiday Look - The Brunette Nomad

The holiday season is fast approaching, and with that comes holiday parties with friends, family, and colleagues. There are so many opportunities to dress up during this time of year, and we often find ourselves wanting to spend more time on our looks in the colder months. All black ensembles, moody hues, bold lips, and rich textures are staples during the holiday season.

For my first holiday party look, I opted for an all black look that is still girly. You can never go wrong with a chic all black ensemble.

When I first saw this sheer blouse in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, I immediately put it in my cart because it just seemed so me. I have been itching to wear this top, but couldn’t quite think of how to incorporate it into my style without having to buy something to make it work. Then one day it just hit me…this would be the perfect all black holiday party look.

I will warn you when I say this blouse is sheer – it really is sheer. I didn’t quite feel comfortable rocking this blouse with just a black bra, but I think it could look very chic when paired with black high waisted trousers and a red satin pump for that luxurious pop of color.

I paired this delicate blouse with my favorite leather skirt to bring some edginess to an otherwise girly look. I love the juxtaposition of the frilly swiss dot blouse with the sleekness of a leather skirt. I had to wear these M.Gemi boots that I recently rediscovered in my closet. Don’t you love when that happens? If you haven’t heard of the brand M.Gemi, I highly recommend checking them out if you love shoes and especially rare finds.

Each shoe is handcrafted in Italy and made to order so it roughly takes 2 weeks to receive your item. The packaging is beautiful and comes with a handwritten note, which I have kept to display in my closet. Yes, I am one of those people.

There is usually a small selection of shoes to choose from and once the style is gone you won’t find it elsewhere. That’s why I can’t link to the exact shoe I am wearing, but I tried to find a few alternatives so you can get the same feel (see here and here). This heeled boot is so comfortable, and I have worn it for New Years in the past. It is honestly one of the most unique boots I have come across because it is made up of 3 different materials: leather, suede, and calf hair.

The colder months are the best time to add texture to your look.

For added glamour to your holiday party look, opt for some bold red lips and a faux fur stole to pair on the outside of your coat. It is one of my secrets to making a simple coat look luxe. I’ve had people often think it’s attached to the coat. Score!

How would you wear this sheer party blouse?
