In Today’s post I am sharing how I styled this simple but bright hot pink sweater from New Look. I once heard that you can’t be unhappy in the presence of pink, and I wholeheartedly agree with this statement.I wouldn’t call myself a pink girl (although, maybe looking at my handbag collection I am), but there is something so playful and feminine about this hue.
Pink may not be a typical Fall or Winter color, but let’s brighten up these cold days with some color.
When I saw this hot pink sweater on Zalando, I knew I had to have it. I had recently seen this hue on one of my favorite Dallas bloggers, Amanda from The Miller Affect, and was convinced I needed something similar in my wardrobe. Normally, I prefer high quality knits from J.Crew or my all time favorite is from Frame. But I do not mind going high street for such a fun pop of color.
This hot pink sweater has proved to be mighty versatile, which is a basic minimum for me when it comes to any item in my wardrobe these days.
I am not a big fan of the colder months, especially during that in odd between period of Halloween and Christmas (aka pre-snow). This hot pink number brightens up those grey days for me, and instantly adds some color to our typical dark or muted winter looks we gravitate towards.
I paired this bright sweater with one of my favorite jeans for petite girls who also have a booty. I went on a hunt this summer for jeans that would finally fit my body shape, which has been so hard to find over the years. When you find a good pair of jeans, it makes you feel confident and excited to pair looks with denim…simple it sounds, I know. To tone down the bright hue of this sweater I added my go-to classic black blazer.
A good blazer is an item in your wardrobe that you want to splurge on because it goes with everything, and will last you years. It is one of those items that can make a simple outfit look instantly put together. My favorite way to wear a blazer is with a simple tee and jeans. For footwear, I couldn’t not add my favorite boots of all time, the much talked about Stuart Weitzman boots. Are they worth the hype? Yes, they really are! if you’re on the fence, I highly suggest you grab a pair.
As you know I always have to add some unexpected element to my look to make it me. Instead of opting for one of my usual designer handbags, I wore this silver clutch from Banana Republic (which I got for $20). I purchased it for New Years last year because I was worried to take out a nice handbag. This little clutch has been a fun addition to my wardrobe, and I have worn it several times because I love a good metallic clutch.
Would you wear a hot pink sweater? If so, how would you style it?
