Have you simply tried on something and it just fit you like magic? It went with the outfit you were already wearing perfectly and it seemed liked it was meant to be yours. This plaid jacket from Banana Republic was that for me. It fit like a glove and seemed very much like my aesthetic this winter season: ruffled sleeves, plaid, and girly to boot.
I couldn’t ask for more from this little fashion jacket – a jacket not meant for warmth. Keep reading to see how I styled this plaid number and other ways that I plan on wearing it.
ANOTHER PLAID JACKET?
I may or may not have been in love with plaid print this season from plaid blouses to plaid blazers. Like this unstructured number that I wore in so many ways on the blog – with leather leggings here and burgundy statement earrings here. It seemed to give all of my looks that touch of seasonal trend and cool masculinity. As you may have noticed, I tend to opt for more feminine pieces so having a masculine inspired item adds a more visually interesting element to your look.
This Banana Republic ruffled sleeve jacket is on the more feminine side and I love it! I love the ruffled details, I love the cut (works best for us shorter waisted folks), and I love the combination of blue and green. I like to pair blue and blue together for a monochromatic look, and this plaid jacket pairs so perfectly with denim.
I wore one of my most comfortable pairs of jeans (I also really love NYDJ – so good!), and opted for a knee high pair of boots as it has been unusually cold here in Texas. To complete my look, I wore my favorite pair of BaubleBar earrings at the moment (don’t let these beauties fool you because when paired with a simple outfit I think they can easily work for the daytime), and the newest addition to my handbag collection.
Hi, my name is Cristina and I have a problem…I am a handbag addict.
Handbags are my weakness. I have said it so many times before, but a great handbag can last you years and can really make a look. The other day I saw that Neiman Marcus was having an after Christmas sale, which included some handbags. I decided to pop by the Northpark location, not really expecting to find anything, and this Chloe Drew was sitting on the sale table. I immediately knew it had to mine. The Sales Associate informed me that she had put this bag on the sale table probably not even 10 minutes before so I think it was my lucky day.
I can see myself wearing this ruffled sleeved plaid jacket in so many ways – a camel colored sweater dress (on sale right now) and my Stuart Weitzman boots, or for nighttime a low v-neck sweater and heeled suede booties. It would even look great paired with a cream colored pom pom hat for those cold days. So many possibilities.
Are you loving plaid jackets? How would you wear this Banana Republic jacket?
