There are plenty of blogs out there who feature magazine worthy photography with an editorial style. That’s not really me. While I think beautiful imagery is essential in blogging and I want to continually improve my photos for my readers, I also like to focus on real style for real people.
I want to provide outfit inspiration for everyday life, teach my readers about new brands, or a new way to pair items together that they might have never thought of prior. To me, fashion is fun. I want others to be able to share in the joy that I feel when I love my outfit or discover something new.
In today’s post I am sharing an easy weekend style look with athleisure vibes to take you from brunch to weekend errands, and everything else in between. Who says you can’t look cute with minimal effort?
Sweater//Banana Republic (similar options here and here) Jeans//NYDJ Vest//Old Navy (old, similar versions here and here) Handbag//Chloe (cheaper alternative here and on sale) Shoes//Marc Fisher Sunglasses//Balmain Watch//Skagen
I’ve been intrigued by the athleisure trend for some time; wanting to adopt it in my own way. You won’t find me sporting a pair of leggings and athletic outerwear in everyday life. It’s not quite my style, but I do love to incorporate casual pieces into my wardrobe. Don’t worry, I’m not always running around in faux fur and silk blouses.
There are plenty of days where I want to feel comfortable, but still look put together whether I’m going to lunch, shopping, or running errand. This is the perfect look for just that and would be an easy look to add to your weekend style repertoire.
I love the sleek and sporty vibes this puffer vest offers. Since the vest is sold out you can check out some other affordable options here and here. It’s from Old Navy a few years ago, but looks much pricer to me. Their athletic line is really on trend, and great quality for the price. I suggest having a look if you’re interested in sporting new athletic wear for all of your 2018 health goals or you just want to implement a few sporty pieces into your wardrobe for those casual days.
I paired this sporty puffer vest with my newest Banana Republic sweater (on sale, and made from merino wool so will you keep you extra warm this winter), and my favorite pair of comfy denim. No super tight denim for this look! Finally, I had to add in my own something extra that makes the look just me. The items I say take a look from simple to fashion forward.
For a pop of color, I paired my newest sunglasses (cat eye is flattering for so many face shapes), and my star printed sneakers. These Marc Fisher shoes have received so much wear, which has really surprised me. I thought these would be strictly warm weather shoes due to the espadrille detail, but I’ve found such fun ways to wear these in the colder months. For winter inspiration, see these previous blog posts where I paired my star printed sneakers with a red down jacket and with an elegant faux fur stole.
I hope this post has provided with you inspiration to change up your typical weekend style. If you’re still in school, this could also be a great outfit for class if you still want to feel presentable.
