My Favorite Face Masks for Different Skin Concerns

Dallas fashion blogger shares her favorite face masks for different skin concerns from acne to skin texture issues and moisture.

I have always been fascinated by the skincare world. So many different serums, lotions, and potions all claiming to do these fabulous things with new technologies that you can’t help but be intrigued to try. My favorite category of skincare is face masks – a quick pamper session in a jar that is often overlooked.

I love to incorporate face masks into my skincare routine 2-3 times a week, and always have to travel with at least one face mask when away because I can really tell the difference when I skimp. After years of trying out different face masks from various brands, I’ve compiled a list of my current favorite face masks in my collection for different skin needs.

My favorite brand for face masks is Peter Thomas Roth and I have been so fortunate to collaborate with them in the past here and here. As a Content Creator, it’s great when a brand organically takes notice of how much you enjoy their products and wants to work with you.

Many of the face masks mentioned below will be from the brand, but this is not sponsored in any way and they have no idea I am making this post. I have just found that their products have worked well for me while maintaining a more reasonable price point for the quality.

Now let’s get into these face masks!

If You Need Moisture… Try the PTR Rose Stem Cell Mask

The Rose Stem Cell mask is a classic from Peter Thomas Roth and is meant to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, dehydration, and dullness. It’s a gel texture, which I find to be really soothing and clean feeling. I love to keep this face mask in the fridge for that extra cooling effect. Yes, you read that right. My beauty cabinet has now taken over my fridge. I’ve used this mask often as an overnight intensive treatment when my skin feels extra dehydrated and needs that little bit of help. It would make a great mask for beach vacations as it’s a soothing treat after your skin has been in the sun all day.

If You Like Something All Natural…Try the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

The face mask of all face masks. I say this because the Tata Harper Resurfacing mask has received probably every beauty award imaginable and for a reason. This much-beloved mask is 100% natural and non-toxic, which is actually harder to find than you might think. This mask contains natural beta-hydroxy acids (BHA) which help to exfoliate the skin for a more radiant complexion. This product is great for improving uneven skin texture and dullness. My favorite! I would love to try other face masks from the brand and see how they hold up to this product.

If You Have Uneven Skin Texture…Try the PTR Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

This is probably my favorite mask I own. I long avoided physical exfoliants because I always felt they did more harm to my skin than good. Micro-tears from overly rough exfoliants can leave your skin irritated and inflamed. Not a good look! However, Peter Thomas Roth seems to get just the right texture with the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask – not too rough but still enough texture so you feel like it’s getting the job done. This face mask is a powerful exfoliator meant to reveal smooth, radiant skin and combat uneven skin texture. It also smells just like fresh pumpkin pie!

If You Like a Cream Exfoliant…Try the Demaolgica Gentle Cream Exfoliant Mask

Those with sensitive skin or prone to rosacea might want to stick to a cream exfoliant rather than a physical exfoliator. This Dermalogica lactic acid mask was my go-to for many years. It works in a similar way to physical exfoliants, but without the rougher texture. The lactic acid, Salicylic Acid, and fruit enzymes help to stimulate skin renewal and will naturally exfoliate your skin. Dermalogica is a much-loved brand by dermatologists and I highly recommend their products. I’m really interested to try the Daily Exfoliant as I’ve heard this is the first step to help your makeup to go on smoother and last all day for that airbrushed effect.

If You Need Acne Care…Try the PTR Therapeutic Sulfur Mask

Sometimes your skin just gives you trouble (especially during that time of the month), and you need a mask that will clear out those yucky blemishes. You should try the Peter Thomas Roth Sulfur Mask, which has 10% sulfur to kill that acne bacteria. This is more of high strength mask so I would use it in the areas that need help rather than all over the face. This mask also contains aloe vera so it is great for soothing irritated skin because some acne treatments can be a bit too harsh. Clay masks are also really helpful for soaking up that excess oil in your skin.

If You Like an Overnight Mask…Try the Tula Probiotic Skin Rescue Treatment

I love a good overnight face mask! I’ll even turn masks that aren’t necessarily meant for overnight into an intensive moisturizing treatment for nighttime. I suffer from dry skin so moisturizing masks are essential in my routine. Tula’s Overnight Skin Rescue mask is a potent treatment with concentrated probiotics and natural peptides to renew the look of dull skin. This mask also has anti-aging purposes, however, I can’t quite speak to that (obviously). This is the most expensive mask on the list, but I have a discount link for you. *Click here to receive 20% off your order of $30 or more! This mask is suitable for all ages.

*Disclaimer: If you purchase through the link above I will receive $20 credit on the Tula site (only for this one purchase)

I hope this list was helpful to discover new masks that you may have never tried before or even discover new brands! Share your favorite face masks in the comment section below so I have products to discover too.

I’m addicted to face masks! I have quite the growing collection in my bathroom. I’ve never tried an all natural face mask, so I might need to get the Tata Harper one next!
