As I am writing this I have made it to Dallas! I am a bit superstitious and didn’t want to write that until I actually arrived. Is anyone else like this? If you don’t follow me on Instagram or follow my blog closely then you may not have heard that I am back home in Dallas for a whole month and couldn’t be more excited.

Living away from your hometown never gets easier because that feeling of comfort you get when you are home is like no other. I plan on documenting my journey back home shopping, eating, and relaxing on Instagram so make sure you follow me over those for all behind the scenes action.

Now let’s get onto why you are really here…my Friday favorites from what I am reading, promos from my favorite brands, most worn shoes and more.

If you would like to check out my past Friday Favorites posts click here.

WHAT ARE MY CURRENT FRIDAY FAVORITES?

  1. I rediscovered my Loeffler Randall straw bag, which is one of the bags I have received the most compliments on. You can see how I style this Summer bag on Instagram here and here.
  2. I’ve been traveling on the train a lot these last few weeks, which means time for audiobooks and shows. I have gone back to an old favorite, Ladies of London, which makes me miss living in London. Think The Real Housewives of New York but set in London. Too good!
  3. I normally don’t opt for “self-help” books but I’ve had the infamous, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fu*k, on my mind for quite some time. It’s a completely different approach to looking at life and dealing with everything that gets thrown your way. I highly recommend giving it a read and I can see now why it is so famous.
  4. I have officially worn my Sam Edelman Perri mules to death and had to toss them the other day. However, don’t worry I plan on buying another pair because these are the most worn shoes in my wardrobe to date.
  5. I finally splurged on the By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum (I use Sunny Flash). It’s a radiance enhancing and color correcting serum that you can mix in with your foundation for a gorgeous Summer glow.
  6. I couldn’t be happier that last year I switched from my zip wallet to a cardholder. I am still loving my Balenciaga cardholder and it looks pristine despite being used every day. If you are a fan of smaller bags then you really can’t go wrong with a cardholder.
  7. Despite all of my luxury handbags and accessories, my most worn sunglasses this Summer are only $12. I am loving the 90’s inspired oval shape and it just does to show that expensive isn’t always better.
  8. After a recent trip to London, my mother brought me back my favorite tea from Fortnum & Mason – Moroccan Mint. You may be thinking tea in the Summer is crazy, but I love to have it all year round. P.S. It’s great for digestion!
  9. I live in my robes and since it’s been so hot I’ve switched to my silk robes. Not only is it great to throw on after a hot shower, but it can dress up any basic pajama set you have if you don’t want to feel like a slob.
  10. I recently got my hair cut and always go a bit shorter than I like since my hair grows fast. That means I’ve had to pull out my GHD straightener until my curls look less frizzy. I forgot how quickly this tool can straighten my hair.

BONUS:

My favorite phone case company, iDeal of Sweden, currently has an awesome Buy 1 Get 1 Free Offer. The case are really high quality and I have even gotten my mom hooked on the brand. The offer ends on August 19th.

Thank you so much Liz! I really appreciate that. The lipstick is one of my most worn colors and is that perfect “your lips but better” kind of color 🙂

I have been wanting to read The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k for so long! If you recommend it, I know it has to be good. Great round up of faves, and enjoy Dallas! It’s one of this Okie’s favorite places. xo

Thank you so much for your sweet comment! I really appreciate it. I definitely recommend the book. I like that it is a bit more realistic than a lot of other self-help books or articles that say give x ways to look more beautiful or x ways to be happier. Have an awesome day 🙂
