A wrap coat is probably one of the most flattering styles of coats that you could own. It’s perfect for highlighting your waist and creating that “coveted” hourglass figure that can get lost during a time of chunky sweaters and oversized coats.

I purchased this J.Crew wool wrap coat last year, but they have released new colors this year (talk about how gorgeous this red color is). I prefer to think it’s like wearing a socially acceptable but very fashionable bathrobe in public. Is that just me?

A wrap coat – much like a camel coat and well fitting blazer – are the perfect items to take you from day to night. If you were going to purchase one quality coat this season I would highly recommend opting for this flattering style. I am including a few other wrap coats below that you can shop and add to your wardrobe this season.

Love that lilac color! It looks great on you and I like that it won’t bulk you up when you’re trying to stay warm!

Thank you so much Lisa for your comment. That’s why I love it! Sometimes in winter I feel like the clothes can add weight and not be too flattering 🙂

I love that lilac color and feel that would be nice for a Michigan spring! It’s still so cold here.

I spent 6 months in Michigan a few years ago and I remember how cold it was. My Texas blood was not made for that 🙂

I am digging the coat. And that is a very pretty well stitched Lilac. Works for the Spring too!

Thank you so much for your kind comment! It definitely works for the spring as well. You are right about that. I loved it during that transitional weather from winter to spring 🙂

You’ve convinced me (or maybe that color did!). I’m still trying to squeeze as much use out of my leather jacket as I can before true winter descends on Wisconsin!

You are too sweet Maria! This is one of the coziest coats I own and the wool really keeps you warm 🙂

The main thing I care about with coats is that they fall below the knee so I can keep wearing skirts and dresses. So important!

Such a good point! I’ve seen several longer options in this style and they are definitely just as cute 🙂

That jacket is so freaking cute! I wore the same red pea coat for the last 8 years and now I’m ready to change it up – might have to copy your lavender!

It is such a flattering and fun color. I’m surprised how easily it goes with a lot of different colors. If you get one let me know 🙂

Agree! In winter I sometimes feel so frumpy and potato-ey because of all the layers taking away any shape.
