Workwear Outfit: Classic Tweed Skirt

Since I was young I always found tweed to be incredibly timeless and chic – think classic Chanel. Much to my surprise, I have found that tweed often has the connotation of being stiff or for the 60+ crowd, but in my opinion, tweed knows no age. In fact, my favorite way to style tweed is with a blazer, basic tee, and distressed jeans. It instantly dresses up an otherwise simple and casual outfit.

This classic fabric also works great for the office for a truly chic workwear look. Trust me, you will feel like you can conquer the world in tweed. Many of us are still experiencing Winter, but if you are one of the lucky ones then stay tuned as I plan on styling workwear outfits more appropriate for Spring and Summer on the blog.

Since tweed is a heavier fabric it is generally reserved for those colder months or transitional weather so perfect for right now. I paired this Kate Spade skirt with my favorite affordable cashmere sweater (I love it so much that I have it in two colors).  You can easily pair this outfit with a great pair of pumps or kitten heels but I prefer something a bit more comfortable and unexpected – my Stuart Weitzman boots, which are 100% worth the price tag.
