As I’ve gotten older I’ve realized I prefer to dress in neutrals and classic colors that can easily go with anything in my wardrobe. However, adding a pop of color is an easy way to add interest to your outfits and can help you create several different looks from just a few key pieces. Especially, if you are someone who loves a capsule wardrobe.

When adding pops of color to your outfit remember to keep the rest of the look more neutral and monochromatic.  This red Kate Spade handbag is the perfect pop of color to my simple outfit – jeans and a basic blazer. A staple look in my wardrobe. I originally saw the Queen of styling colors, Blair Eadie, wear this handbag on her blog and I knew I had to find a way to style it myself.

If you’re more daring or love to play with color try adding blush pink as your neutral base (the best neutral if you ask me) or opt for tones in the same family. An outfit with varying shades of the same color says you are a master at styling.

I love your outfit! I love the idea of wearing blush pink as a neutral! That is one of my favorite things to do when I wear all black.

Thanks for the comment! So happy you think of blush pink as a neutral too. I feel like so many people don’t 🙂

Thank you so much Jana! I love my neutrals, but sometimes you just need a pop of color 🙂

That bag is everything! Also, I love all the neutrals with the pop of color with the purse! So easy to switch out neutral pieces and have a minimal wardrobe.

Exactly Anna! It’s so much easier to switch out fun accessories than buying a whole new wardrobe 🙂

YES! Purses and shoes are so easy to incorporate pops of color ina classic netrual look. Ive been buying printed pants recently and wearing basic tees and funky al black heels with them. Style is so much fun haha. Super cute girl!
