However, I hope it can still provide you with some New Year’s Eve outfit inspiration whether you’re going to a fancy dinner, a friend’s cocktail party, or simply staying in this year but still want to take part in the festive spirit.

There is nothing wrong with wearing a tulle gown at home. 

When you think of a New Year’s Eve outfit you probably imagine sequins, lots of sparkles, or something resembling a bandage dress, but I love the look of whimsical tulle. It is always a classic in my book and will instantly make you feel party-ready.

To my Rent the Runway membership I rented this Marchesa ballerina-inspired tulle dress that was surprisingly comfortable. This is the same brand I wore for my civil ceremony and they truly make the most romantic and feminine dresses.

To make any party dress a little more casual or to add a bit of edge to any overly girly look I always recommend wearing a leather jacket. This one was a great find from Zara a few years ago, but you can find affordable options from Topshop, BLANKNYC, Levi’s and more.

Throw on a pair of your most flattering heels, grab your favorite bubbly, and add statement earring to complete the full New Year’s Eve party look.
