Now that the season has changed, we are slowly transitioning our summer wardrobe into Fall. If you live in Europe you also have to physically pack away your summer clothes and make room for the next season (no real closets – just tiny wardrobes). It always makes me a bit sad to put away my Summer items as I love the warmer months. I love the freedom of being outside and the long summer days.
In defiance of Fall (probably the only girl who isn’t a fan of this season) and to get the most out of my summer wardrobe, I am trying to find creative ways to transition my typical “summer pieces” into this new season. In this post I am bringing new life to a summer dress, and showing you how you can transition a typical summer dresses into Fall. Especially, if you want to quickly add some Fall vibes to your wardrobe.
As we are officially into Fall now, I am sure you have heard a lot about the latest trends for this new season. If you are a fashion addict like myself then I bet you closely watched the runways of NYF, LFW, MFW, and PFW to mentally take notes of how you could recreate these trends in everyday life. As much as I wish life was a runway, you have to find ways to take these high fashion trend pieces and translate that into real life and your own personal style.
If you are feeling overwhelmed with all of the trends or just want a quick list of what is on trend right now, check out a previous blog post where I went over 10 key trends for this Fall and Winter season.
In this particular post, I am rocking two trends of the season that I think go together seamlessly: winter florals and white booties.
I’m just under 5ft 4 inches and have a short inseam – no #legsfordays over here!
Finding jeans that not only fit my body shape, are on trend, and that I actually like has always been a challenge for me. For years, I have dreaded going denim shopping because I knew I would try on over 30 pairs and either come out with one pair of jeans or walk out empty-handed. I found myself sticking to the same two pairs of jeans that worked for me, and not exploring any further since there clearly couldn’t be anything out there for me…or so I thought.
This summer I said enough was enough and I wanted to find denim that worked for my petite frame. I came away from the experience with a new favorite brand that I’m so excited to share with you.
I consider myself lucky to be from a city that takes their food seriously – and I mean seriously! Dallas has you covered on the whole food spectrum from fancy steak houses to backyard taco joints. You can have so many different food experiences in one city, and they are not just carbon copies planted next to each other.
This is especially true if you stick to the areas of Lakewood, Downtown, Uptown, Deep Ellum, and Trinity Groves.
I like variety in anything that I do. One day I will be in the mood to go to a chic lounge where they turn the lights down low and you listen to low tempo house music. The next day I just want to be casual and hit up my favorite hole-in-the wall tamale restaurant. Haven’t you heard the saying that variety is the spice of life? In this case, it literally is (you get the food reference, right?).
Come discover one of my favorite casual sushi places in Dallas (where you won’t break the bank), and my favorite Kate Spade collection to date.
Dallas is what I call a concrete jungle of the South. Muti-level monstrosities called highways and skyscrapers are commonplace in my sweet hometown. After spending much of my life living between Texas and various countries in Europe, I wouldn’t call Dallas a pretty city with stunning architecture. It’s hard to when you walk around the medieval streets of Prague or see churches nearly a century old in Paris.
However, what Dallas does have is an amazing food scene, and that is why I will always recommend visiting Dallas to any food lover (or shopping addict…but that’s for another post).
As a native to this wonderful city and self-proclaimed foodie, I wanted to share a few of my favorite restaurants that may not be as well known. Along with the help of Kate Spade at NorthPark Center I will bring you along to 3 of my favorite places to eat in Dallas.
As August comes to an end that means summer will soon fade; depending on where you live. Fashion magazines have begun talking about the upcoming Fall and Winter trends and stores are starting to stock up on those must-have cold weather pieces.
While the weather isn’t quite ready for a full on coat and sweater, soon you will have to start transitioning your wardrobe into key pieces of Fall or Pre-Fall. That in-between weather for any season can be difficult to style. Will I be too hot? Will I be too cold?
In this post, I show you one of my new favorite ways to still use your summer denim shorts and slowly transition your look into Pre-Fall. I plan on doing a few more of these posts with key summer pieces so stayed tuned!
