After the first two weeks in February, I never see this color combination until the next year. I have no idea why because these are two colors that go surprisingly well together – if they are complimenting tones. Red is vibrant and pink is the new neutral so I encourage you to have fun with your look.
I mean that is what fashion is all about. The days are long gone of strict fashion rules that we grew up trying to follow: No white after Labor Day, Don’t pair black with brown. Now you can mix prints to your heart’s desire and pair unexpected colors to create your own truly unique look. That’s why I love fashion today- the endless possibilities.
I have welcomed a new bag to my collection (shocking, I know!) – the Marc Jacobs Snapshot, the perfect mini bag. Have you ever been window shopping online, and you find something that makes you say I HAVE TO HAVE IT! I think I may have actually said this out loud.
As I’ve gotten older, I want my purchases to have a purpose so I don’t find myself in 6 months with items in my wardrobe that I don’t truly love. After one week of deliberating about this handbag, and dreaming of all of the ways I could style it – yes, I actually had dreams where I was wearing the handbag, I thought it’s about time to press add to cart.
I think I may have found the new handbag that you should add to your collection this Spring.
More brands are dipping their toes in the exposed skin trend. For those who may not want to go full crop top (I know I don’t) or just like the flirty look of showing a bit of skin, try the cold shoulder trend. Exposing your shoulders can be a fun way to show some skin without showing too much, and I find it much sexier than showing everything your momma gave you. Long gone are the days of wearing the tiny Abercrombie jean skirt that we all had in the early 2000’s. Carefully placed cut-outs are on trend and I think we can expect fashion this Fall to go covered.
I remember a college professor of mine once said that according to color psychology “you couldn’t be unhappy in the presence of pink”, and I completely agree with this statement. I’ve had pink phases in my life where I seem to be drawn to this color. I think I might be entering into another pink phase as I am buying more and more pink items lately.
There is something so feminine, fresh, and vibrant about the color pink. It adds that nice youthful and girly touch to any item that you wear.
Pink in Spring, how original? (I imagine this being said in Miranda Priestly’s voice)
Happy Sunday my loves!
Is it just me or are the weekends getting shorter as we get older? With all of the graduations happening around the corner, it has me reminiscing about college lately. I’ve been seeing pictures on Facebook and Instagram of these girls I met before they had their very first college class when I was a Rho Gamma (Recruitment Guide for sororities) as a Senior, and they will be graduating NEXT weekend.
Seriously, where has the time gone?! I know I’m not the only one who feel this way…but reminiscing over. That can be for another blog post.
Remember when you first saw Wizard of Oz and fell in love with Dorothy’s singtaure gingham dress? I do! This print is clearly timeless as it is still going strong in fashion today. If you love this print then you’re in luck because it is a major trend this spring and summer season. There is something girly, playful, and fresh about gingham.
