Last Summer I styled a look on the blog around my favorite color combo: red and pink. I called it the unexpected color combination because these are two colors most don’t think about pairing together. I don’t know if it’s because these two hues are bit bolder, too girly, or are reminiscent of a Valentine’s Day party. My love for this color combo is probably half the reason I love Valentine’s Day.
It takes a bit of finesse to find what works for you as people seem to be scared of pairing non-traditional color combos together. However, once you find your way to wear red and pink you won’t be able to stop pairing these two hues together.
If you’re a bit shy to tackle this color combo I suggest starting with accessories and a more neutral look so you can still have elements of these colors, but it doesn’t have to be the main focus of your look. You can also always pair red with a light blush pink so it still acts as a neutral against the bold red.
Red can sometimes feel a bit too in your face for me and to me is a commitment, but adding in pink softens the looks and adds in that feminine touch that I try to bring in with my outfits.
To help you in your journey of testing out this red and pink color combo for yourself, I’ve selected a few fun items for Spring and Summer. In case you didn’t know this color combination is really on trend at the moment so what are you waiting for.
What are your thoughts on the red and pink color combo? Are you loving it or is it too much for you? Feel free to share your favorite colors to pair together in the comment section below!
This color combo reminds me of Valentine’s Day. Sometimes it’s too much, but when it’s done well, it’s the cutest!! The blogger @SassyRedlipstick always does it very well.
I also love the red denim skirt! It would so cute for 4th of July.

I completely agree! It can look a bit over the top, but when done right it’s so fun 🙂

I totally understand. Pairing those red sunglasses with maybe a blush pink top or light pink jean jacket/blazer could be a great way to incorporate these two colors without going over the top. Let me know if you end up trying it out 🙂
