How to Find Affordable Coffee Table Books & My Curated Collection

Dallas fashion blogger shares Armani inscribed coffee table book

I’ve always had a fascination with coffee table books as to me, the coffee table books you choose say a lot about you. Do you love to travel? Are you a history buff? Do you get giddy when looking at Old Hollywood fashion icons? You get the idea.

That’s why I carefully select the coffee table books I bring into my home. I want them to be as unique as I am.

So far my coffee table book collection consists of fashion and gardening (I secretly want an English rose garden), but next on my list are travel books that reflect my favorite countries and the places I’ve lived. While I love collecting coffee table books they can be expensive. It’s hard to justify $70+ on a book, right?

That’s why I am finally sharing my secret to finding great coffee table books for cheap!

If you have a Half Price Books near you be sure to pop in. You would be surprised at the hidden gems you can find under $10. They have locations across several states, but if there isn’t a location close by, any second-hand book store will do.

I have also found some affordable coffee table books on Amazon, but you just have to be willing to look through the listings as you can easily still pay the high-end retail cost. Especially, for books relating to the major fashion houses.

To curate a truly unique collection, find books that you could sit down and read or where the photographs speak to you. Not just the ones that everyone has in their home as decor. I want anything I collect from jewelry to pottery to books to illustrate who I am. Life is too short to be like everyone else.

MY COFFEE TABLE BOOK COLLECTION

Vintage Roses

If you love roses and gardening this is a must.

The images are what really sold me as the book goes over 60 different species of roses that are incredibly beautiful and are also easy to grow and produce if you’re a gardener. I learned about so many species of roses that I never knew existed.

Royal Style

Ever since the days of Diana, I have been fascinated by the British Royal family. The book includes hundreds of photos with different fashion moments from Royals around the globe – from Princess Diana, the Duchess of Cambridge to Princess Letizia of Spain.

Armani Backstage

This is a very special book as it’s signed by Armani himself. Click here for an inscribed copy for sale.

Armani came to Neiman Marcus at my mall several years ago. My mom pulled me out of school early that day to attend the event because she knew I couldn’t miss it. Thanks, mom! The book is filled with black & white photos of Armani working backstage with his models where you can see him in action.

Claudia Shiffer

This was the coffee table book to start it all as I’ve had this book since the ’90s. This book is made even more special as Claudia Schiffer photographed by the late great Karl Lagerfeld. It shows a collection of her work and some of her greatest ’90s Chanel campaigns.

Gardening Through the Ages

If you love gardening but are also a history buff this is for you.

The book goes through the history of gardening from the Egyptians to present day. My favorite part is illustrating how Renaissance and the greatest gardens in France were planned as it was truly an art and every plant had a purpose.
