One thing I learned over these few months is how much I love a good fruit smoothie. I’ve shown a lot of my smoothies on Instagram stories this year and kept getting asked how I make them so I finally decided it was time for a blog post.
Let’s get real – life gets hectic and sometimes we can forget to eat our fruit. I know I’m guilty of this! A fruit smoothie is an incredibly easy and quick way to get your fruit intake and can help curb your sweet tooth. Plus, it’s also a great way to use up fruit that is about to go bad.
Making a fruit smoothie is actually easier than you might think and only requires a few main ingredients. You can use whatever fruit, milk, or yogurt you have on hand and customize your smoothies so it’s something different each time. My favorites are a classic strawberry and banana or full of berries.

HOW TO MAKE A FRUIT SMOOTHIE
- Add the frozen or fresh fruit of your choice – I prefer to do a mix of both for texture
- Add a banana and yogurt to thicken
- Add the milk of your choice – I use lactose-free or almond milk usually
- Add orange juice for extra flavoring (optional)
Now just mix all of the ingredients together in a blender until smooth (I use this Oster blender – currently on sale). You can even make smoothies ahead of time and freeze to use throughout the week.
How I made the smoothie in this post:
– 1/2 c almond milk
– 2 tbsp. Trader Joe’s almond milk vanilla bean yogurt
– 1 banana
– 1/2 c fresh blueberries
– a handful of frozen peaches

I’m trying to get better about making smoothies in the morning, when I get out of bed when the alarm goes off. Thanks for the instructions.
