I don’t know how it is where you live, but in Switzerland, it seems like Fall lasted a few weeks and then it went straight to Winter. It can be hard to dress cute when it’s so cold and warmth becomes more important than trying to look stylish. I hear you! However, I know what will save me this season – oversized statement sleeve sweaters.

We’ve seen the statement sleeve trend the last few seasons and I don’t see it stopping anytime soon.

It’s a great way to take something casual or basic and make it a bit more interesting. Contrary to basically every other girl’s opinion on the internet, I’ve always felt that Fall & Winter outfits can be a bit boring and repetitive. I mean how many sweaters, jeans, and boots can one person wear in a season?

But it is items like this statement sleeve sweater from French Connection that make all of the difference and actually get me excited to dress for this weather. The slits on the side are incredibly flattering and allow you to do the now classic half tuck and clearly show where your true waist is.

My current favorite way to wear oversized sweaters is with leather skirts to add variety from your traditional jeans or leggings. The key is to look for a skirt that is more fitted and doesn’t have extra fabric that could add bulk to your bottom half like pleats or a skater skirt.

If you would like to recreate this look I am adding some of my favorite statement sleeve sweaters below so you can easily shop and add these items to your wardrobe!

I am in LOVE with this sweater! Those sleeves are so good & chic. It would look so cute under a sleeveless dress too. I love how it looks with the Gucci too 😉 x Shannon • http://www.essellesse.com
