Dallas fashion blogger shares how to wear western style boots for fall with a leather midi

I haven’t worn cowboy boots since college. When you go to school in the South it’s almost a requirement to own a pair of boots. Fast forward to 2020 and I can’t get enough of this new fall trend – western style boots. Think of these as not your typical cowboy boots heading to a football game or rodeo. These are more of a high fashion take on that with suede, snake print, high heels, or slouchy silhouettes.

I found the PERFECT pair of western style boots…but they were almost $900!

Yeah, that was not happening. As much as I love Isabel Marant and the classic French aesthetic where women look chic with minimal effort I couldn’t justify that price tag. I finally found a great Isabel Marant dupe at Zara on sale for $89! My wallet was much happier with that and to be honest, I’m so impressed with the quality.

Unsure how to make western boots more fall appropriate and less cowboy?

Style these boots with more unexpected pieces to make it fashion-forward. Wear a leather midi skirt (my fall obsession) and a simple black t-shirt or a cozy knit. Pair western style boots with a moody floral dress for a seasonal but comfortable look you can wear at Christmas.

If you’re a jeans lover – so am I – pair western style boots with dark skinny jeans, a white collared shirt under an oversized sweater, and add a trendy bucket bag. Mansur Gavriel makes my favorite bucket bag because they come in any color you can think of, but Cuyana makes a more affordable option.

I do have some western-inspired boots in my closet, but pairing them up with clothing in the way that you suggest make them a lot more wearable. You found a great dupe, how awesome!
