After a bleak few years, it looks like we’re ready for some fun, some brightness, and more color. This spring and summer you can expect pops of color in all shades of the rainbow. Everything from hot pink, bright orange, canary yellow, sky blue, and feminine lilac. If you’re like me and not the biggest fan of bright colors then keep reading for wearable ways to style this trend.
I’m not one to go out and get a new wardrobe each season—who really has the budget for that?! I love to add in a few inexpensive trend pieces backed by a foundation of pricer items that I can wear all year whether neutrals are THE thing or bright colors are everywhere. This season I’ll be finding ways to add bright colors to my wardrobe without feeling like a Crayola box.
The best way to style bright colors is to have fun with your accessories.
A neutral background will actually make the colors pop more. Think of wearing a white t-shirt and white jeans but styling a hot pink mini bag. I have my eye on this Hermes Mini Kelly dupe in pink (I’ve already styled the Hermes dupe in black all fall and winter). One of my favorite ways to add colorful bags to a look is with a classic shape. Classic shapes like hobos or top handles help the bag look more elegant and less child-like.
