When I say I am particular about my designer dupes, I am particular. I expect quality, durability, and above all else to actually look like the bag because the details ARE important. As much as I love the Hermes mini Kelly, that is just not in the cards for a while so I’ll have to take the inspired route for now.
Luckily, Lily & Bean make the best Hermes mini Kelly dupe I have ever come across and it’s from a brand that you can trust (FYI—not sponsored).
I’ve purchased this bag in two colorways — even have my eye on a third — and follow many bloggers who have also purchased the handbag and wear it continually.

+ What fits inside the bag? Can I carry it every day?
I’m personally a minimalist so I can use this mini Kelly dupe as an everyday bag. If you prefer to carry more than the basics then this will also make a great evening bag for you. I do preface this by saying the bag is small (19cm or 7.4 in width). You have to be strategic in how you put everything in the bag like a game of Tetris, but it does fit:
- iPhone 13 Pro Max (thin case)
- Hand sanitizer (very thin)
- Lip balm + lipstick
- Car key + house key
- Cardholder
- Hair tie (silk is my favorite)
+ What is the Kelly dupe made of?
The bag is made of 100% grained leather, which gives it a similar texture to the beloved Hermes Epsom leather. One of my biggest tips when selecting dupes is to opt for leather rather than PV. It will always give the bag an elevated look as it’s hard to fake the look of real leather.
+ What straps come with the bag?
The photos on the website will show a wide, fabric strap, however, the bag does also come with a thin leather strap (as you see in my photos). I personally never use the fabric strap as the Hermes mini Kelly doesn’t come with it so it kind of defeats the purpose.
+ After owning the bag for well over a year, how does it hold up?
I’m surprised it’s held up so well given the cost and how much I use it. It just goes to show that price isn’t always a quality factor (the bag currently retails for around $180 at the time of writing this). None of the stitching has come loose and the bag still retains its beautiful texture.
The infamous Kelly lock does have some scratching on it, but that’s if you’re being really particular. Plus, any bag would have scratching after continual use so to me it lends itself more to being a beloved bag.
+ What do I like about the bag?
I love the classic and simplistic look of the bag. And because of that it suits all outfits, and withstands trends. Even if the bag wasn’t mini Kelly inspired I would have still purchased it because of its versatility and no obvious logos.
I appreciate the removable strap so it can be worn as a top handle, shoulder, or crossbody bag. My new favorite way to wear the bag is purely as a mini top handle bag — even for daytime.
I also appreciate the feet on the bottom to protect the leather of the bag. It’s the details that matter to me.
+ How long does the bag take to arrive?
Since the bag comes from the U.K. it takes between 2-3 weeks to be shipped to the U.S. So if you have a special event you want to style the bag for or want to give it as a gift (great gift idea!) then prepare for that longer shipping timeframe. However, I recently purchased the bag in red and it came within 1 week, which was quite a surprise.
