OUTFIT DETAILS: EYELET DRESS (SOLD OUT IN PINK, SIMILAR) | VALENTINO BAG | HERMES SANDALS (HERMES DUPE)
I’ve been a member of Virelle for almost 1 year now and after sharing so many new bags I’ve rented on my Instagram, I felt like it was time to share all the details of my membership. Now that I’m in my 30s and there are other things I’m saving for, my handbag budget has definitely shrunk. So over this last year I’ve been renting bags from Vivrelle.
While I would often recommend buying over renting since some handbags are now outpacing both the stock marketing and the price of gold (seriously look it up), that isn’t always realistic. That’s where Vivrelle comes into my life.
As a lover of luxury bags, I still get to play around with these bags in my wardrobe without forking over the high price tag from the onset. Instead, I can rent them, purchase for a discounted fee if I like or send them back and try something new.
The membership has also opened my eyes to bags I never thought I would get the use out of like this denim Dior Caro bag or bandana print Chanel flap.
So let’s get into your most burning questions below and a few bags I’ve rented through my membership…
Questions About My Vivrelle Membership
+ How does the membership work?
With your Vivrelle membership, you can rent luxury bags or jewelry for a monthly fee according to your tier. Each month you can swap out for a new item or keep wearing the item you love as long as you want. Think of Rent the Runway but for luxury bags and jewelry pieces.
There are currently 4 tiers that decide the types of items you can rent. The tiers are—Premier (jewelry up to $1,000 and select bags), Classique (all bags under $4,000), Couture (all bags), and Couture+ (all bags and all jewelry).
+ Which Vivrelle membership tier is right for me?
For me, I’m using Vivrelle for the handbag rental so that’s the tiers I’ll speak about here.
I first started with the Couture tier ($199/mo), which allows you to rent any bag, regardless of value. Last month I switched to the Classique tier ($99), which allows you to rent handbags under $4000. This feels like a sweet spot for me in terms of the membership cost.
If you are joining and want endless choices or only want to rent really high-end bags from Chanel, Hermes, Dior, etc. then the Couture tier is the one for you. If you just want to enjoy luxury bags without spending $200/month on membership fees then I recommend the Classique tier. You’ll be able to rent a good 75% of the bags in Vivrelle’s closet under this tier. That’s why I switched.
+ Is there a minimum membership period?
Yes, Vivrelle requires a three-month minimum membership period. After that, you can cancel if you feel the service isn’t right for you. They say this is to build a community of members who want to wear and love the luxury items rather than joining for one-time use. It’s truly a community built for lovers of luxury.
+ Why rent bags instead of owning them?
The age-old question—Most of us can’t splurge throughout the year on multiple designer handbags or jewelry pieces, especially with the continuous price increases. Vivrelle is a great way to still be able to “add” designer items to your wardrobe without the big investment. It also allows you to test out a bag before purchasing so you know if it works for your lifestyle and, in general, suits you. I’m all for the testing!
+ Can you buy the bags from Vivrelle?
Yes, you can! As a member, you’ll receive discounted prices to purchase items from the Vivrelle closet. Just email their membership team for prices and they’ll coordinate it all.
+ Are the bags authentic?
Yes, Vivrelle is dedicated to ensuring the authenticity of all items. They are authenticated by their team AND third-party experts. Multiple eyes are always better in this case!
+ What condition are the bags in?
Each month I rent a new bag so I’ve tested out many bags and many brands. For the most part, the bags come in really great condition with zero wear to small signs of wear.
If the team feels like there is a little more wear than expected they will notify you and provide photos before shipping to you to see if you still want to rent the bag. I’ve had this happen before, and the bag was still in great condition so their standards are high. If the bag doesn’t meet your expectations they will gladly swap it for another.
