It’s capsule wardrobe planning season. If you’re unfamiliar with my capsule wardrobe blog posts, I create one each season with a curated selection of 25 pieces that will take you from day to night. So, what’s in style for spring 2024?
Fashion for spring 2024 seems to be either super sporty and casual (think Prada nylon inspired or sweatpants with a trench) OR formal as in business chic with a pinstripe blazer and tailored trousers.
I recently wrote a blog post about how peach fuzz is the 2024 Pantone color of the year, and you will start to see that popping up as we move into spring and summer. It gives a soft, feminine touch to any outfit.
Florals as always are in for spring, but this season they are a bit different. It seems to be the season of the rose — whether a giant singular 3D rosette or a rose motif on a simple black dress. It’s all about simplicity with florals this spring. No busy floral patterns.
This season we are also seeing a nod to the early aughts with large bags (the bigger the better), kitten heels, beaded bags for the evening, and more. Never thought I’d see it come back so soon.
One of my favorite trends this spring is all of the options for flats. As much as I love heels — even kitten heels — in theory, flats are where it’s at for everyday. From true ballet flats to studded flats and knit sneakers my collection of flats just keeps getting better.
