Activities to Do While Under Quarantine

Dallas blogger shares activities to do while under quarantine

It seems that many of us around the world whether legally enforced or not are going to be under quarantine for the foreseeable future. We can still make the best of the situation and try to add some normalcy to our routines. Just because of what’s going on in the world doesn’t mean we should forget to do the things we love and find ways to add variety to our days inside.

I wanted to round up a few ideas of activities you can do while under quarantine to bring some positivity to your day. If you have any other ideas please feel free to share them in the comment section below. Don’t forget to take care of yourself and practice self-care, which is more important now than ever.

In my next post, I’ll be sharing outfits you can wear when working from home that are comfortable yet put-together. While living in pajamas can be great, it does wonders for your mood to just get dressed some days.

Activities to Do While Under Quarantine

Binge Watch Shows

My last blog post was all about the TV shows you could binge watch right now that are available on Netflix, Prime, and Hulu. I tried to include shows you might have never heard of before or just never got around to watching in our busy lives. I’m just assuming we’ve all watched Friends and the Office more times than we can count, right?

Organize Your Home

Something we ALL need to do, but probably put off. Our weekend time is limited and therefore precious, but now that we are spending more time indoors it is the perfect time to organize your space. It also does wonders to help clear the mind. Check out my tips on how to organize your closet from a self-proclaimed shopaholic.

Communicate With Your Loved Ones

This is one of the most important!

If you can’t see your friends or family right now be sure to still take that special time to communicate. The same way you would if you saw them in person. Talk on the phone, facetime, set up a virtual “coffee date” or simply send each other funny pictures each day. Make sure you stay in contact during this time.

Listen to a Podcast or Audiobook

I used to be strictly against audiobooks because I loved the feel of a book, but about 2 years ago that changed when I got into Audible. Hearing the story makes me feel so much more immersed as you can hear the different characters and the emotion behind the words.

If you would like some books to check out here is a list of my favorite audiobooks.

Also, I am a podcast fiend. Literally, I listen to them everyday at work. There are podcasts out there for any interest you have and it’s nice to find a community of people who share the same passions. Here is a list of my favorite podcasts in all genres.

I’ve discovered several more in the last few months if you’d like an even more updated list.

Dance Party

Now is the time to move around and remain positive. Italy at everyday at 6 pm encourages those under quarantine to open their windows and play music so they feel connected. Make sure to put on your favorite playlist or songs and rock out.

Word Search or Sodoku

Look online for word searches or sodoku – play online or print it out if you prefer. Don’t forget to exercise your brain while you’re at home.

Bake

If you have enough supplies consider baking and old favorite that reminds you of childhood. Whenever I’m stuck inside on a rainy day one of my favorite things to do is bake. You can enjoy your treats over the next few days.

If you’re not a big baker and the oven is not your friend you can make these peanut butter and chocolate energy balls that are tasty and healthy. Plus, they don’t require any baking.

Spa Time

This is one of my favorite things to do on a relaxing night-in. Paint your nails, do a face mask and lather your body in lotion. Then watch a movie in your robe or comfy pajamas for the rest of the night. Do whatever makes you feel good.

If you’re looking for a few masks to try these are a few of my favorites:

Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio-Repair Gel Mask

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

Origins Clear Improvement® Active Charcoal Mask

Tata Harper Resurfacing BHA Glow Mask

Colleen Rothschild Intense Hydrating Mask

You can also make DIY masks with regular items from your pantry such as honey and oatmeal or you can make a body scrub from olive oil and sugar.

My job is permanently work at home forever and always. I’m thankful to still have a job, but some much needed r & r would have been nice. Needless to say, my schedule looks the same so I don’t really have any extra time on my plate. But, hey, this is a good time to work hard on blogging!

I have not read a better blog post on Quarantine. I would love to follow your advice and listen to an audiobook. I also plan to make a podcast.

My go-to when social distancing is use this time to tackle the spaces I’ve been avoiding- so cleaning my space is my main focus!

I find that when I clean, my space looks great, but also I feel great as well!

Also going to add some other things to the list like learning how to cook homemade pasta and random things like that I’ve always wanted to try!
