What I Wore + Did: Bachelorette Weekend (including a checklist)

Last weekend I went on a bachelorette trip to Galveston for one of my best friends who is getting married this November. I had never been to Galveston before and was unsure how this sleepy beach town would work for a fun-filled bachelorette weekend. I have to tell you that I was pleasantly surprised and we truly had the time of our lives.

I was fortunate enough to be with a great group of girls who just wanted to be there for the bride, and was so enthusiastic with everything we planned. I wanted to share what we got up to and what I wore during the trip to give my other brides out there some inspiration or fellow bridesmaids tips on how to plan a great bachelorette weekend.

I’m sharing where we stayed, what services we used, sizing information for my outfits, and much more.

At the end of the post, I even include a handy checklist that you can pin for future reference. I wish I could share more photos to show how much fun we did have, but there are some photos that shouldn’t be on the internet…sorry!

WHAT I WORE

My main outfits for the weekend were rented from Rent The Runway using my Unlimited membership. In case, you’re unfamiliar with the membership, you pay a flat fee of $159 per month and can rent unlimited designer labels. I get access to some great luxury pieces from bags to dresses and accessories. Then you can send them back when you’re done.

If the commitment of a monthly membership isn’t quite your thing you can click here to get $30 off your first rental.

WHAT I DID

DAY ONE

Since most of us were coming from different locations and a few flew in we decided to have a relaxing first day. I love that we decided to have one group arrive early to decorate and put out goody bags before the bride arrived.

Our Airbnb was about a 5-minute drive from all of the action so we could easily uber when we needed to. It was a victorian home that had been restored so the kitchen and bathrooms were updated.

We decided to get dressed up and head out for a seafood dinner because when you’re right on the water you have to take advantage of that. After dinner, we came back to our Airbnb for drinks and inappropriate cookie decorating – the best way I can describe it. We found a lot of the “adult” themed cookie cutters on Etsy and used this recipe for the cookie dough. This was the perfect start to the weekend.

Need an idea for a fun game?

We each were given drink markers that were topless men. The game was that you could not be without your man for the entire weekend and he had to be visible. If you were caught walking off without your man or dropped him your punishment was a shot.

DAY TWO

We had a lot more fun the first night than expected so decided to take it easy in the morning with a leisurely breakfast and a few hours at the beach. We had a surprise for the bride so I had to get her out of the house for a bit. It was something I had never done before, but I would highly recommend this company – The Artful Bachelorette.

We drew a nude male model and had a teacher instruct us throughout the process. I wish I could share more of those photos, but I think you know why I can’t. It was actually much less awkward than I thought it would be and I think it’s because of the company we used. It was so professionally done!

Later that night we got dressed up and wore wigs to head to a drag show, which was the one request from the bride. I purchased my wig from Amazon and it was really high quality but was under $20. Everyone was fully committed to their looks, which made the experience so much more fun. We went to Rumors Beach Bar in Galveston, which I would definitely recommend.

None of us had ever been to a drag show before, but we all loved it. The music was great, the acts were talented, and everyone was just there to have a good time. Going all out with our looks made the experience. If there is anything you take away from this post to recreate it’s that.

PIN ME FOR FUTURE REFERENCE

If you want to see more of what we got up during the Bachelorette weekend I have photos saved in a highlight called Bachelorette on my Instagram. I hope this gave you some inspiration for a bachelorette weekend that is so easy to recreate.
