Lately, I have been talking a lot of the hottest trends for this Fall and Winter season. Every time a new season begins it is always exciting seeing how to incorporate these news items into your everyday life, and revamp your wardrobe. I personally think we happen to be at a very exciting time in fashion. There is so much creativity in the industry, and now more than ever we are able to see the trends as they actually happen.
We watch the Instagram stories of influential bloggers who are sitting front row, we follow our favorites brands on Instagram to get sneak peeks of new collections, and we live in an era of fast fashion. The everyday consumer is much more fashion forward than I remember growing up, and our new fashion inspiration comes from street style – people like you and me.
It’s an exciting time to love fashion!

WHY DO I LOVE A GOOD PLAID BLAZER?
In my previous post I discussed how we have all gone mad for plaid, and that out of all of the trends you see – plaid is definitely the print of the season. I wanted to share with you how I am slowly choosing to integrate plaid into my daily wardrobe.
If you don’t want to spend the money to completely revamp your wardrobe this season or just don’t know where to begin to keep up with the trends, I would suggest starting with the plaid blazer. A classic item that will be able to last you for seasons to come.
I believe in incorporating key trends into my look, but also ensuring that these are pieces I would wear next year. No longer do I buy hoards of clothes at Zara or Forever21 and then discard them at the end of the season. It is all about finding ways to wear trendy pieces in your own way and curating your wardrobe carefully.
The plaid blazer will be your best friend this season, and is one of the most versatile pieces you could buy.
I have even worn this Zara blazer with a winter floral blouse (previously seen in this post) and was pleasantly surprised how well they wen together. I love the unstructured fit of this plaid blazer, and it hits me at the perfect spot. That is really hard to find as a petite person.
For a daytime look to run errands or grab lunch on the weekend with friends I would pair a plaid blazer with dark-wash skinny jeans, a lightweight camel colored sweater, and some funky architectural mules. To transition the look from day to night – just swap out the slides for high heeled booties (like these Marc Fisher ones) and add a mini red bag for a pop. Nothing better than an easy outfit change.
What are your thoughts on the plaid blazer? Would you wear it?
