I believe jeans are a staple in anyone’s closet. It’s that one item that looks good on everyone and will never go out of style. I’ve written several blog posts on the subject like this cool and casual double denim look or my favorite brand of denim for petite women.

However, on those days when it’s too hot to wear jeans in the Summer or you just want to show off those toned legs you’ve been working so hard on for that #summerbody you cannot go wrong with a denim skirt. It still offers you the versatility and comfort of jeans but is more breathable for Summer.

I have been in the market for a well-priced but quality denim skirt for some time. As much as I love jeans I always have a lot of trouble finding the perfect fit thanks to my Mediterranean backside. This high-waisted distressed option (similar here) was exactly what I was looking for.

If you have a similar problem to me then try opting for something high-waisted or stretchier denim fabrics to hug you in at the waist but leave enough room for the booty.

This denim skirt is more distressed than I would normally opt for so I decided to add feminine elements for a cool but girly Summer outfit. Unfortunately, this beloved J.Crew silk top is no longer available in stores but you can easily find it on eBay.

Now let’s just talk about the wedges for a moment. I was completely influenced by one of my favorite fashion bloggers and Youtbers, Lydia Elise Millen. We have a similar taste in fashion and philosophy on dressing so when she raved about these affordable and comfy wedges I knew they would be a great compliment to many Summer looks.

Sadly, I now have trouble with heels due to two accidents on my right ankle, but these wedges are surprisingly comfortable for me. That is a win in my book! The heel is still low enough to wear during the day, but it would also work perfectly paired with a floral maxi dress for the evening.

Versatility in clothing is what I am all about!

Love your outfit! The distressed hem of your skirt is so cool! I have issues finding a denim skirt that fits me too. I finally caved and bought a denim skirt one size up to fit my booty and had it tailored to fit my waist.

Thank you Dannie! That was such a sweet comment. I have always loved denim skirts but have a hard time finding that perfect fit for my body shape. When I find a good one though I’ll keep it for years 🙂

I am loving your denim skirt. I like that it is short but not too short.
