What I’ve Purchased Lately: Spring 2022

In case you don’t follow me on Instagram, you might have missed spring items that I’ve purchased lately. I post on my Instagram almost daily so if you want more real-time updates make sure to follow me there. It’s an easier medium for quick updates, but I promise to make my blog a priority again (I know, typical blogger answer).

My favorite season to shop for is spring and summer—not just in terms of fashion but the home as well. It’s a great time to refresh your style whether it’s on your body or in your home. One of my favorite ways to do that is through fabrics. Opting for organic fibers like cotton and linen will make everything feel light and breezy, which is a must for those warm days.

After the dark colors of fall and winter, all we want are bright colors this season. I’ve been adding bright colors to my wardrobe through accessories. Think of colors like hot pink, lavender, yellow, and orange. It seems like the more color the better this season. If you’re a neutral lover and timid to style bright colors check out a previous blog post where I share tips on how you can style color without looking like a Crayola box.

Now let’s get into a few items I purchased lately…

WHAT I PURCHASED LATELY

Bottega Veneta Dupe

I’ve almost purchased the Bottega Jodie and cloud bag multiple times, but with so many amazing dupes on the market, I can’t quite take the plunge. So I’ve been on the hunt to find the best dupes on the market to get my BV fill. I purchased this bag on Etsy for under $100 and it comes in multiple fun colors for spring.

My advice for dupe bags: always pay a little more and opt for leather. It’s pretty hard to create quality-looking faux leather, which will always make the bag look cheaper than it is.

Knit Cardigan

I love a good old lady knit cardigan. Not only are they cozy but they also add a great texture to so many looks. I went for stripes because they never go out of style. This cardigan is such a versatile piece that I’ve worn from everything from sitting at home to a nice evening out with my husband.

DG Logo Sandals

Every season I splurge on one pair of leather sandals that will be my go-to sandals that season. This year I opted for something a bit different in lieu of the brights trend. I purchased a pair of hot pink logo sandals that have been surprisingly easy to pair. I love making these DG sandals act as the main pop of color and they pair very nicely with the lavender BV bag dupe above.

Fuzzy Slippers

I wear slippers around my home 90% of the time. There’s just something about a cozy pair of slippers that makes you feel at home. I have long been an Ugg only slipper girl but recently purchased the Emu brand version. I can report they are just as comfortable and once again opted for a fun color. Who am I?!

Linen Pillowcases

One of the easiest ways to update your home decor each season is through pillows, and the best part is that you can also do that on a budget. With a clumsy husband who spills everything everywhere, we aren’t quite at the point yet to get “fancy” pillows. I found these beautiful linen pillowcases at H&M for $12. They come in multiple colors so will work with whatever your style is.

Clay Mask

Every woman needs to have a great clay mask in their beauty routine to pull out those toxins. I kept getting this mask as a beauty sample and loved it so much that I finally decided to buy it in the recent Sephora sale. At $15 it’s an incredibly affordable mask but packs a punch. What I love most about this clay mask is that it doesn’t leave my skin feel dry—like it’s been sucked of moisture after.
