Springtime is around the corner and that means if you have a careful eye you’ll start to see spring trends popping up. The trend I’m most excited for are pastels from head to toe. Think those sweet candy shades of baby blue, butter yellow, lilac, pistachio, and blush pink. The best part is that it makes for the perfect transitional trend you can start wearing now!

If you’re tired of winter’s dark hues and moody prints start incorporating pastels in the form of coats and sweaters to brighten up your late winter wardrobe.

This butter yellow Ganni sweater (on major sale right now) acts as a surprising neutral that you could easily pair with white jeans or with a floral midi skirt and brown booties to slowly bring in those spring touches.

Get prepared – the fashion this spring is going to be incredibly feminine with pastel colored coats (as seen at the Inauguration last month), peter pan collar cardigans, and anything floral embroidered.

If you’re scared to pair pastels with your wardrobe start thinking of them as neutrals.

Even though pastels addd a touch of color and whimsy to an outfit they are soft enough shades that you can pair them with so many unexpected colors. My go-to tips when I’m unsure how to style a trend or particular color is to stick with a simple outfit that I would wear often and build from there. Nothing looks bad with a pair of jeans, right?

I can imagine styling this yellow Ganni sweater with my new favorite blush pink ballet flats (that I probably wear too much already) or with a leather midi skirt for a nighttime look.

I hope it warms up for you soon! I think we could also use a spring re-fresh 🙂
