The fascination with Bottega Veneta bags is not a new thing. In my opinion, they’ve switched from trend pieces to classics, which is not an easy thing to do. I’ve had my eye on the Bottega Veneta Jodie for at least 3 years so why haven’t I added one to my collection? To be honest, there are so many amazing dupes on the market that look nearly identical so it’s been hard to pull the trigger on such a pricey piece. Never though I would say that.
However, after carrying the authentic mini pouch bag over the last 1.5 months — thanks to my Vivrelle membership — I can say that it’s becoming harder and harder to not purchase the Jodie. If you’re someone who loves handbags, is interested in purchasing a Bottega Veneta bag, or would rather opt for an incredible dupe, then keep reading.

First can we talk about this wine color?! What a perfect shade for fall.
Recently, with my Vivrelle membership I opted to rent the Bottega Veneta pouch bag after eyeing it for years. I wanted to see how it held up to the dupes I’ve purchased previously — because there are some great dupes on the market that look almost identical to the real thing. I chose the mini pouch bag, which the smallest size.
The classic Bottega intrecciato (weave) pattern is truly beautiful and after carrying this bag, I now realize I actually prefer it to the smooth leather version. It adds texture and interest to an otherwise simple bag.
So, now the big question: Is it worth it? Yes and no — sorry to be that person.
The leather is incredibly buttery and high-quality. You can feel the difference when compared to dupes. However, it’s not glaringly obvious. If you are not someone who loves dupes and really appreciates the craftsmanship of luxury bags then the Bottega bag is worth it.
The pouch bag is surprisingly wearable from day to night if you are a minimalist. Next time, I would go one size up as the mini did not hold my iPhone 13 pro max. However, I could fit my keys, lipstick, lip balm, hair tie, hand sanitizer, and cardholder in the bag.
As of writing this blog post, the mini pouch retails for $2,500 USD so if you want the look for less (I don’t blame you) then you will be more than happy with some dupes I’ve discovered.

After carrying the intrecciato mini pouch above I can definitively say I am more of a fan of this classic pattern than the smooth leather I have here.
I originally purchased a Bottega pouch dupe in 2019 just to see if I liked the style of a slouchy clutch. As someone who typically prefers structured bags, I was shocked at how much I liked the style. The unstructured look gave any outfit this I didn’t try too hard look so I decided to spend a little more for a genuine leather dupe of the Bottega Veneta pouch.
This is where I learned my lesson.
If you are getting a dupe opt for the genuine leather version because it will always elevate the bag and make it look much more authentic. I found an amazing dupe on Etsy for under $100 and it comes in numerous colors. I’ve had my eye on the gold for the holidays.
The sellers offers these bags in a few different sizes, but I chose the mini as it’s more comparable to the mini pouch from Bottega. I just love my mini bags. I’ve had this dupe for about 7 months, and can say it still looks great, and is one of the best pouch dupes I’ve seen on the market.
Bottega Veneta Jodie (Dupe)
Out of all the Bottega styles, the Jodie is actually my preferred bag from the brand. I love the handle, fun shape, and big zipper detail. For a “smaller” bag it surprisingly holds a lot. If you’re a minimalist like me then it can fit all of your daily essentials and a little more.
I can easily fit in:
– iPhone 13 Pro max
– keys
– lip balm + lipstick
– cardholder
– hand sanitizer
– sunglasses without the case
Not wanting to pay for the Bottega price tag? There are some great genuine leather dupes on Etsy that I think you will be really happy with. Love the craftsmanship of the real thing? Bottega bags are becoming classics and their minimalistic look makes them incredibly wearable.
