While under quarantine, I am learning to appreciate the small things. The things I once overlooked as a small part of my day or the mundane. I’m trying to take the time to enjoy my daily beauty routine and the skincare products that are bringing me joy.
I have long been a skincare addict over a makeup lover because I firmly believe that a great skincare routine is the foundation for flawless makeup. Also, if you feel great about your skin you don’t need to wear makeup as often or even as much.
Many of these skincare products featured are department store or med spa pricing as that’s mainly what I use. I loved drugstore products for many years, but around age 25 I decided to start investing in my skincare as you often get what you pay for.
I’m sharing some of my favorite skincare products in my entire routine so I can confidently say that these products are my tried and true. Here are 5 skincare products bringing me joy during this time.
5 SKINCARE PRODUCTS BRINGING ME JOY
BEAUTYBIO THE QUENCH
I have been a fan of the brand since it first hit the shelves of Nordstrom a few years ago, and exploded on the beauty scene. Any beauty award out there you can expect that BeautyBio has won it.
The Quench is the latest product I’ve added to my skincare routine, and it does exactly what it sounds like. It’s a thick cream formulated for dry or dehydrated skin but won’t clog your pores. The cream is intensely nourishing and provides long-lasting hydration with vitamins A and E, which are great for encouraging cell growth and neutralizing free radicals.
Check out some of my favorite BeautyBio products.
SUNDAY RILEY JUNO
Sunday Riley makes the most incredible facial oils packed with vitamins at a somewhat reasonable price. I’ve used every oil they make, but Juno is the one I cannot live without and have easily repurchased 10 times. Sunday Riley’s Juno facial oil is formulated with antioxidant-rich superfood seed oils like cold-pressed blackberry and blueberry.
So what does it actually do? The antioxidants, vitamins, and amino acids nourish and fortify your skin while brightening its appearance. I love to slather this on at night or use under my nighttime moisturizer since it’s a drier oil.
If you have drier skin as I do then you will love discovering facial oils and adding it into your routine.
ELTA MD AM THERAPY
I’ve used this as my daily moisturizer religiously for 2 years. I was happy to discover this brand thanks to my medspa as I use the Elta MD SPF in my daily routine too.
What I love about this moisturizer is that it is medical-grade but at a reasonable price point. When medical grade moisturizer can easily reach $50 or more a $35 price tag doesn’t seem too bad. If you sign up for a recurring order on Dermstore you can get this moisturizer for under $30 and you earn rewards for each purchase.
Elta MD AM Therapy helps stimulate skin cells to increase moisture absorption and retention while the willow bark non-irritatingly stimulates cell turnover for smoother skin.
REVISION VITAMIN C LOTION
Revision is another brand I’ve been happy to discover thanks to my Medspa (any fellow medical-grade skincare lovers out there). If there is one item you should add to your basic skincare routine it’s this – a Vitamin C serum.
Vitamin C is one of the best ingredients you could add to your routine as it brightens dull complexions and helps minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Sadly, there are a lot of Vitamin C serums on the market, but few can actually make the difference they claim so that’s wasted money.
Whether I spend $20 or $200 I don’t want to waste my money.
I’ve learned from my esthetician that any Vitamin C serum should be in a dark solid packaging otherwise it could lose its effectiveness while sitting on the shelf before it even reaches your skin as they are very sensitive to light. While this Revision Vitamin C serum is on the pricy side it the highest concentrate you can get on the market and you only need the smallest amount each day.
DR. TEAL’S BODY LOTION
And now for a drugstore product that I know you’ll love! Dr. Teal’s is most known for their relaxing bath salts, however, they have recently come out with body lotions. While I am normally a big lover of body butters, I am not a fan of how they get stuck in my nails when applying.
I was looking for a moisturizing body lotion with a pump and discovered Dr. Teal’s. I’m currently using the soothing lavender, but also have the eucalyptus as a backup. It’s paraben-free, sulfate-free, and cruelty-free all while using lavender essential oils, cocoa butter, shea butter, and vitamin E to hydrate the skin.
Plus, you can find it at drugstores from $5-7. What a steal!

These products sound absolutely lovely. I really want to try the Juno oil in particular because I’m a Sunday Riley fan. This is a great time to experiment with products and routines. If something breaks you out, gives you a bad hair day, or whatever, it doesn’t matter because we are home!
