Have you ever seen a woman walking down the street, out running errands, or at dinner and thought…wow, she was really well dressed and looked chic? Guess what? You can be that woman and it’s simpler than you may think. It doesn’t take hours getting ready or an endless budget because let’s face it that isn’t real life.
All you need are good basics, but most of all, a well-tailored camel blazer. Keep reading to see just how easy it is to achieve your chic look in daily life.

A GOOD BLAZER CAN LAST YOU YEARS
I often talk about the items in your wardrobe that you may want to splurge vs those that you want to save on. In my eyes, trend pieces or items that you don’t think you’ll want to wear in 1 or 2 years time should be best left to the high-street or department stores. A good blazer, especially a well tailored blazer will last you years and will be an invest that never gives you buyer’s remorse.
I am falling in love with this camel blazer from J. Crew – it’s high quality, the cut is perfect for my frame, and the pop of blue on the collar keeps it fun. As you know, I like to have that unexpected element to make my look uniquely me. I scored this camel blazer back in the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales.
That’s my trick to buying pricier clothing pieces or shoes. I have a running list in my head of quality basics that I want to add to my wardrobe, but would rather save on. Every time there are major sales, I specifically look for these items first. It may takes a few rounds of sales, but patience is key. Plus you can find some pretty great finds.
IF YOU WANT TO LOOK CHIC, OPT FOR NEUTRALS AND QUALITY BASICS
Neutrals always tend to look chic, put together, and all around more expensive. I paired my camel blazer with my favorite pair of denim, my newest pair of nude heels (so comfortable when I haven’t worn heels in a long time), and a black v-neck sweater. That sounds fairly basic, right?
I threw in some fun elements with my BaubleBar statement hoops that I wore in a previous post styling my casual holiday party look. However, I think that look can easily be worn on a date or for drinks with your girlfriends this season. My look wouldn’t be complete without my Louis Vuitton Cluny BB, which just seems to go with everything (you can read about my full thoughts on this handbag here).
If you think about it, this look was all done with items many of us already have in our wardrobes: a basic sweater, your favorite pair of denim, nude heels, and that go-t0 handbag that just goes with everything (no need for high end designer items). Now all you need is a great camel blazer to complete your wardrobe.
If I wanted to wear this look in the daytime. I would swap out the gorgeous BaubleBar earrings for a pair of studs, and for maximum comfort throw on a simple pair of black mules. You gotta love versatile items like that.
