To date, my handbag related posts have been my most popular! I am so happy to have a community that is just as handbag obsessed as I am. Whether you’re in the market for a new handbag or just curious, these reviews can be incredibly helpful. If you are about to splurge you want to make sure you aren’t wasting your hard-earned cash on something that will just sit on the shelf collecting dust.

I am not one to spend my money on an item that will look pretty sitting in my closet or can only be used for “special” occasions.

I want to get the most use of out of my items so today I am sharing my thoughts on the Gucci Dionysus Mini. After owning the bag for a little over a year I feel like I have a great understanding of the wear and tear, versatility, and overall use of the bag.

GUCCI DIONYSUS MINI HANDBAG REVIEW

HANDBAG PROS:

If you follow me on Instagram I think it’s pretty easy to see that I wear this handbag a lot. You would think because of the suede sides that it would be a strictly fall and winter bag, but I wear it all seasons and actually love the bright pop of color with a simple black or white Summer dress.

It’s the perfect size to travel with and since it can be worn on the shoulder or as a crossbody it makes you feel like it’s two bags in one. If you are looking for a bag that can easily transition from day to night I suggest opting for the mini Dionysus.

The next size up is considerably bigger, heavier, and cannot be worn as a crossbody – just things to take into consideration.

I also love that I went for the red as most people purchased the beige/brown suede option so it’s something different.

The canvas is hardwearing and shows no signs of scratches. It honestly looks brand new. The only “mark” on the bag after over a year of wear is the tiniest dirt stain on one side of the suede (I could barely find it when trying to review the bag for this post so it’s fairly insignificant).

Now: I do take good care of my bags in general.

I have never worn this handbag in the rain due to the suede and I have never put this handbag on the ground. My bags are my prized possessions and get their own chairs or rest on my lap so I am sure that has something to do with how well the Gucci Dionysus mini has held up for me. I am a handbag lover.

HANDBAG CONS:

My only complaint with the Gucci Dionysus Mini is the size. OK, hear me out...

It is a mini handbag, but not one of those useless mini bags where you can only fit one lipstick. However, you do have to be mindful of what you carry in the Gucci Dionysus mini size. I am fairly minimal with what I carry inside my bags anyway, and if you are similar than the mini is a great size option for you.

If you don’t want to think about what to carry or just like to throw things in your bag and go then I would suggest sizing up. This is not one of those Mary Poppins bags.

What do I carry inside this bag?

– My cardholder (you cannot fit a regular wallet in this handbag)

– Keys

– Small zip pouch for cosmetics (rollerball perfume, hair tie, lipstick, lip balm, mini hand sanitizer)

– My iPhone 11Pro Max

– Sunglasses without a case

IS THE GUCCI DIONYSUS MINI WORTH THE SPLURGE? 

I am so happy with my purchase and would even love to test out the smaller size. Call me crazy, but I love my mini bags. For my lifestyle, it works perfectly. I want a bag that works for all seasons, is easy to travel with, can be worn from day to night, and truly goes with everything in my wardrobe.

The crossbody capability is also pretty enticing to me, but not a deal-breaker.

The Gucci Dionysus Mini does all of that! It is one of my most complimented bags in person and on social media and the quality is well worth the money in my opinion. If you are someone that doesn’t care about the crossbody option or likes to carry more items then the next size up is for you.

Either way, you will not be disappointed with the Gucci Dionysus!
