This is the second post in my series of what to wear to a Spring and Summer wedding. Check out my previous blog post for dress ideas when the invite says cocktail attire. I don’t know about you, but I am partial to any event that requires a formal dress code because there is something so glamorous and chic about getting this dressed up. It just doesn’t happen that often anymore.
What does it mean when the invite says black tie?
No need to panic as there are a lot of different ways you can translate this formal dress code. A long floor-length gown is preferred, but you can also opt for a formal cocktail dress that has glamorous touches to it such as beading or embellishments. Think Golden Globes or Oscars Red Carpet to help guide you.
Rather than opting for a classic black dress (a no-fail choice for any formal occasion), I found this navy silk gown on Rent The Runway.
