If you don’t follow me on Instagram stories you may not know that my husband and I just signed a lease on a new apartment and will be moving at the end of February. Now that a major task on my never ending to-do list has been checked off, I can begin to think about the fun part – home decor!

I have long had a love for Chinoiserie home decor (actually I would call it more of an obsession).

Chinoiserie was the European interpretation of “oriental” design in the 17th and 18th century. Think floral wallpapers, luxe fabrics, blue and white china, and Chinese motifs like cherry blossoms or dragons.

It’s probably not the norm for a late 20 something, but I’m what you call a grandmillenial. Give me a coffee table book on great English estates and the chance to watch Antiques Roadshow UK any day.

I wanted to provide you with home decor inspiration if you are also a lover of Chinoiserie and are looking for small ways to add a touch of luxe into your space.

The quintessential Chinoiserie decor is blue and white porcelain. This ginger jar is only $35 and would make the perfect addition to any shelf or coffee table.

Wall art is one the quickest and least expensive ways you can add interest to a space. These ginger jar prints will instantly bring elegance to your home. Plus you can frame them however you like so it feels more one-of-a-kind.

If you aren’t afraid of the Chinoiserie motif these foo dog lamps are a great statement piece and on major sale right now!

One of my favorite ways to change up a space is with pillows through color or print. If in a year you want to re-think your home decor then at least pillows weren’t a huge investment.

This Chinoiserie throw pillow could pair well with pillows you already own since it’s mostly neutral with a few pops of color throughout.

Thanks for the introduction to Chinoiserie style. That’s a new one for me. Some of that would fit great into the traditional style I have.
