The harsh reality is that yoga pants are not always socially acceptable…yes, it’s true! Sometimes you just want to look cute, but don’t want to put a lot of thought into your outfit whether you’re always running late or you’ve had a long week and can’t spare energy to think about what to wear.
I have finally found the perfect (what I call) lazy girl’s formula to getting dressed quickly while looking put together. This is 100% possible. This type of look is on constant repeat for me and makes getting dressed super easy for my lazy girl days.
I am sure you are aware that it is the last few days of the much publicized Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Prices will go back to regular retail price on August 7th. In case you haven’t taken part in this sale or may have missed these items, I thought I would share a few of the items I purchased through the sale. Unfortunately, one of the items I purchased is already out of stock. I purchased these trendy bauble bar earrings in rose gold.
When I want to add that little bit extra to an outfit, I find myself incorporating the color pink without realizing it. I haven’t thought of myself as much of a pink girl since religiously quoting “On Wednesday’s we wear pink”, but clearly I still love the color. It is such a versatile color and you don’t have to be a girly girl to add elements of this fun color into your wardrobe. Light pink is my favorite neutral and truly goes with everything. Hot pink can bring that touch of femininity and brightness to any otherwise simple look.
It is never too soon to start thinking about the next season so you can carefully curate your wardrobe. It can be overwhelming to be thrown in midseason and try to figure out what is on trend or hot this season while the racks have already been picked over. When you stay ahead of the curve you can slowly see the trends trickle down from runway to department store and then the high street. It also gives you ample time to figure out which trends you will be rocking and/or save money for those big ticket items like the latest handbag. I am a major handbag girl myself.
In this post, I will be sharing with you the 10 hottest trends for this Fall and Winter as seen on the runways and shapable items so you can translate these trends into your everyday wardrobe.
Yes, another off-the-shoulder piece. I bet you have been overloaded with this trend in the last two summers from bloggers, celebrities, and basically every girl walking down the street.
I will continue to embrace this trend and I don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. There is something so flirty and refreshing about off the shoulder pieces. I’m not as comfortable showing off the girls (if you know what I mean) so the off-the-shoulder trend offers me that right about of sexy without making me feel like I’m heading into the club.
Heading off to college and really leaving home for the first time can be a mix of so many emotions: exciting, nerve-racking, and surreal that the time is finally here. Even though you know that high school ends after four years, it becomes your world and can be hard to look beyond that. When you are finally faced with the reality that you will be starting the next chapter on your own for the first time, even the most self-assured person can feel anxious or nervous.
I wanted to share just a few of my tips for getting through college for incoming Freshman. I could go on forever though as it’s hard to fit everything I learned in those years into 10 tips.
For those who may not know, I am a proud graduate of The University of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner)! My parents always told me that college would be the best time of my life, and you never truly appreciate it until you leave.
Being three years post grad, I feel like I’ve had a few years of experience in the real world to offer perspective on my time in college, but also am close enough to the experience that I still remember every emotion. Honestly, it feels like yesterday.

I’m sure the anticipation is killing you and I bet you have heard from every blogger out there that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started today for all Nordstrom cardholders. Early access to the sale goes through July 20th, and opens up to everyone July 21st. That means all of you fellow Nordstrom card holders get first dibs at the sale, and if you don’t have a Nordstrom card it is really easy to sign up. I love my Nordstrom card because I shop there often anyways so why not get rewards and early access to sales just for owning a card.
Nordstrom is one of my favorite stores because of the customer service (it’s pretty stellar), the return policy is great, and I love the mix of mid-range and luxury items in one store. I wish I could shop luxury only, but that’s not the case.
