On Wednesday’s We Wear Pink Sweaters

Unless you’ve been living under a rock since 2004 you will know the infamous line from Mean Girls, “On Wednesday’s we wear pink.” In this Wednesday’s post I am rocking a pink graphic sweater. Lately, I’ve been finding myself gravitating towards pink sweaters of all hues – from baby pink to deep hot pink.

If you’ve been following me for awhile then you will know that powder pink is my favorite color for handbags, and the new neutral in my opinion. Pink sweaters have been making a splash recently in a price points. It’s a color that can go well with so many skin colors, and adds that element of femininity to any look.

See how I paired this light pink graphic sweater with a leather skirt for an edgier look.

ACTUALLY, I CAN

I fell back in love with graphic tees last summer, and that obsession only continued into graphic sweaters for Fall. It’s a fun twist on an otherwise simple piece that we all have in our wardrobes, and adds that collegiate feel to your look. You could easily rock this New Look pink sweater with a drawstring backpack (this Chanel one is my favorite, but the price point is quite steep), a high pony and a thin black ribbon for that back-to-school look…even if you only wish you were still in school.

This pink sweater can be quite delicate and girly so I decided to bring out the edge for an unexpected combo. I paired my graphic sweater with a leather mini skirt, black Stuart Weitzman boots, and a Marc Jacobs baroque handbag (this was the bag that started my love of pink handbags). This New Look pink sweater could also act as a great transitional item if you live in a place where the temperatures haven’t dropped yet or for the springtime.

I’m also thinking that this sweater could be a great for a travel outfit – comfy but still put together. When you are on a 9+ hour flight comfort is essential, but walking around the airport I still want to look somewhat presentable. I will be traveling back home for Christmas in less than two months, and this pink sweater may be my new travel companion.
