I feel like 2018 was the year that my style really changed and fashion philosophy of buying smart became cemented. I’ve begun to understand that not every fad or trend is meant to be incorporated into your wardrobe and that having quality basics is essential. If you don’t have that covered then getting ready can be quite complicated.
It’s taken me some time to think about my favorite purchases of 2018, but here are 11 items that I couldn’t live without in 2018 and have now become key in my closet, beauty routine, and day to day life. Hopefully, this can help you buy smart and find great pieces to add to your life too.
Favorite Purchases of 2018
J.Crew Cotton Pajamas – These pajamas are called the dreamy cotton pajamas and I couldn’t think of a more fitting name. They are the softest pajamas and a step up from my old college t-shirts that have now seen better days. I will be purchasing these in another color soon.
Aquatalia Boots – I was lucky to find these on sale at Nordstrom (still on sale right now!), but I would pay for full price. I have worn this nearly every day since purchasing because they are perfect for day and night.
Initial Necklace – Another item that I do not go a day without. It adds something a bit extra to my simple outfits and is an exact dupe for the much pricier Chloe version.
Mario Badescu Spray – This has become a key part of my skincare routine because it adds moisture, which I need. I use this on its own after my facial moisturizer or as the final step of my makeup routine as a pick me up.
Nars Foundation – I’m a big fan of Nars foundation as they have so many color options, beautiful packaging, and it looks like your skin. I don’t like a heavy makeup look.
Sam Edelman Loafers – I wrote a blog post in 2018 about these Gucci dupes, and have fallen in love with these. It’s my favorite thing to throw on with a sweater and a pair of raw hem denim. They’re really comfortable and high quality.
Skagen Watch – I cannot go anywhere without a watch. It makes me feel put together and is that perfect easy accessory. In 2018 I have become more interested in daintier watches rather than the big men’s style watch I used to love.
Mother Brand Jeans – I think I have found my favorite pricer brand of denim. Mother makes really comfortable and fashionable denim that I wear every day. Since jeans are a staple in my wardrobe, the higher price tag is well worth it in my eyes.
Gucci Clutch – If you follow me on Instagram then you have probably seen this vintage Gucci clutch a million times. It truly goes with everything and fits much more than you would expect. If you’re interested in buying pre-loved check out TheRealReal.
GloPro – This award-winning beauty tool is definitely worth the hype. It’s an at-home micro-needling tool that heels your skincare products since into your skin, reduces the appearance of fine lines, helps with acne scars, and more.
Diffuser – A diffuser is key to my nightime routine and I notice a difference when I am not using it. It helps relax me and put in the mindset of bed, and who doesn’t love that spa feeling but at home?
