First, let me start off this blog post by saying this is not sponsored (even though the title looks a little #sponsored). Afterpay has no idea who I am or that I’m writing this post. It’s genuinely a service I have been using a ton in the last 2 months and HAD to tell you about.

If you love online shopping but are not a fan of using credit cards for frivolous purchases then I think you’ll love using Afterpay.

What is this magical thing called Afterpay?

When you come to the checkout page while online shopping, I don’t know if you’ve noticed but you have multiple payment options such as “Pay with Paypal”, “Pay with Credit Card/Debit Card or “Pay with Afterpay” (Klarna is a similar service).

Paying with Afterpay allows you to break down the total purchase into 4 interest-free payments with payments going out every 2-4 weeks depending on what the retailer sets.

Unlike a credit card, these payments are interest-free so you don’t end up paying more or worry about it affecting your credit score – never thought I’d be talking about this on my blog lol.

Plus, they remind before they take the next payment so you aren’t left in the dark.

With the holidays coming up Afterpay could be a great alternative to using a credit card.

If 2020 has taught me anything it’s that the world is uncertain and it is so important to be more mindful of using your credit cards. Since I linked my debit card with Afterpay, it’s like I get the advantages of using a credit card without the hassle.

It can be incredibly easy to go into credit card debt (guilty of that in the past) so using this new payment method has been revolutionary for me.

Whether you’re a fellow shopaholic, a little worried about the financial stability of 2021, and want to be careful, or recently made a big purchase like a house I thought Afterpay could be a helpful payment tool for everyone!

I couldn’t keep my new shopping secret from you! Afterpay is available on most major retailers and Klarna is a similar service you can use too.

P.S. I just shopped the Sephora sale and used Klarna to pay!

Does this sound like an installment purchase?
Do we have to pay interest on this installment?

Yes, you pay in installments but it’s interest-free. You also don’t have to worry about them doing a credit check so it won’t hurt your credit score in any way 🙂
