How You Can Save Money on Beauty Products with eBay

I am more than willing to splurge on luxury handbags and wardrobe staples that will last season after season. However, I do love a good deal just as much as the next person. Over the years I have found my own tips and tricks to get a good deal on items that I am already buying. How? You might ask. One word: eBay.

When I mention eBay, it seems to conjure up either confused looks or has negative connotations. People think that eBay sells only used items or that you cannot trust the sellers. I’ve been shopping on eBay often for years and I can tell you that so much has changed.

eBay has worked hard to ensure that counterfeit items and repeatedly bad sellers are not allowed on the platform. You would be surprised at the brand new items that you can purchase on the site for below retail price.

This is where I buy 90% of my beauty products. However, I will only purchase the item off eBay if it is below retail price. Some sneaky sellers try to sell an item for more to those uninformed so always check the retail price before purchasing to see if you’re getting a good deal. 

If you’re new to the eBay game and worried about finding a reputable seller, here are a few of my tips.

First, look for high rated sellers that have sold a lot of items. Secondly, read through the reviews and see if there is a reoccurring theme with the comments. Have people received the wrong item? Was it not as described? Did it arrive late? Thirdly, only buy from sellers who show you the actual product and not just a promotional picture that anyone could have downloaded.

OLLY  Vitamins – I recently purchased these vitamins after getting on a vitamin kick at the beginning of the year. I chose the vitamins rich in anti-oxidants for a clearer complexion to hopefully even out this hormonal imbalance I’ve been experiencing the last few years.

Dr. Jart Sheet Mask – This is my favorite brand of sheet masks, and I have raved about them on the blog before. These are high quality, but inexpensive. Dr. Jart masks are also my favorite sheet masks to use on long-haul flights to keep my skin looking fresh once I land.

Essie Nail Polish – I am rarely without painted nails and have been this way for as long as I can remember. I wish I could get my nails done on a regular basis, but the prices in Switzerland are astronomical for just a manicure. I’ve had to learn to paint my nails well over the years and that means I need several color choices at my disposal.

Paula’s Choice Retinol – I heard about the benefits of retinol for years, and about 2 years ago I finally decided to give it a try. Now I can never imagine being without this product in my routine. Retinol stimulates the production of new skin cells so it improves hyperpigmentation, treats acne, and the appearance of fine lines.

Clinique Eye Cream – As someone in their mid-20’s, I don’t need much from an eye-cream other than hydration and this definitely does that. If you’re looking for a product that has anti-aging properties I would recommend the Clarins Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate, which my mom uses.

Tata Harper Mask – I’ve written about this mask before in a previous post discussing my top 3 favorite face masks. If you’re looking for a resurfacing mask that doesn’t have an abrasive texture this is the perfect mask for you.

BeautyBlender – I can never go without a BeautyBlender in my makeup routine. It helps to create an airbrushed finish and makes for flawless blending.

Peter Thomas Roth Mask – I know I mentioned that Dr. Jart is my favorite for sheet masks…well, Peter Thomas Roth is my favorite for face masks. The masks are quality and not too high in price. My current favorite from this brand is the Pumpkin Enzyme mask, which smells amazing.
