As I write this blog post it is the last day of 2018! I can’t believe I am saying that. Each year as December creeps up I am always so surprised that the year is ending. You would think after 26 of these I would get used to it.
2018 was a big year of growth for me – I became more confident in who I am, started the year as self-employed, finally decided where I want to move to next (you’ll find out soon), and really took my blog seriously.
I have learned so many new skills from blogging and have a deeper understanding of a new industry that I’ve been curious about for years. While I may not have the biggest following or be scoring brand deals on the regular I am proud of what I have started and can’t wait to see where this blog takes me in 2019.
I also wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you for following along this year. Every view, every comment, and every interaction means so much to me and truly keeps me going. Blogging can be quite lonely but knowing that people are enjoying your content makes it worth it.
Now let’s see what happened on The Brunette Nomad in 2018.

Most Liked Instagram Photos of 2018:
Favorite items purchased in 2018:
Vintage Gucci Clutch (via TheRealReal) – I was fortunate enough to work with TheRealReal this Summer and scored this beautiful Vintage bag in the process. It goes with everything and holds much more than I would ever need in a clutch. I highly suggest checking out TheRealReal if you are looking for pre-loved handbags. They are 100% guaranteed authentic and have a great selection of handbags, accessories, shoes, and even home decor.
Prada Canvas Tote – This has been the best travel bag I have ever owned. The worry-free black canvas is great for travel but is still stylish enough that you can use it every day. It is so important to have multi-use products when you travel and that is why I love this beauty.
Sam Edelman Loafers – These classic black loafers are nearly identical dupes for the infamous Gucci loafers, but for a fraction of the price. The leather is buttery and looks high quality for the $120 price tag. Check out this blog post where I compare the Gucci loafers and Sam Edelman version.
Initial Necklace – This is another great dupe fora luxury item. I loved the Chloe initial necklace, but if I am going to spend money on jewelry I would rather it be a classic piece that I know I can wear for years to come. I have no idea if I will continue to love this trend throughout 2019, but at only $15 I am not too worried. I can say that I am obsessed with this necklace at the moment and have worn it every single day for the last few weeks. It is well worth the money and such a fun item to have in my wardrobe.
Heart Sunglasses (similar style here for $4) – I never thought a pair of heart sunglasses would be so versatile. I opted for a classic black to make it a bit more chic and less Valentine’s Day inspired. I have worn this pair from Catwalk Junkie so much since I purchased them this Spring and they add something a bit fun to my everyday looks.
